About Me

Hello There!

When I was a little girl, my grandmother gave me a small clear box that contained two dried beans. I puzzled over it after she left, shaking its contents, and examining them closely under lamplight. Unable to solve the mystery, I placed them on my bedside table and went to sleep. I was awakened deep in the night by a strange rustling and turned on the light to discover that the beans were rattling. This happened each night until one morning I woke to find a moth flexing its gray wings, having just bitten a perfect circle in the bean husk to escape. Although I released the moth, my fascination held fast. I visited the library and prepared a presentation about jumping beans for the next school show-and-tell, eager to share their mystery and wonder with my class.

Since then, I have devoted my career to helping learners link their curiosities to moments of discovery like the one I had as a girl. Whether facilitating virtually or live, designing instructional materials, creating assessments, reviewing assessment data, or consulting about strategy, I relish the moment when clients gain new insight and skill. Although my subject matter expertise is in workplace violence prevention and creating healthy organizational cultures, I work with clients to create memorable and effective programming of all types. I have worked for a diverse array of clients including high schools, colleges, corporations, government agencies, nonprofit agencies, and the US military.
